Certain things you can depend on in life. The love and faithfulness of a furry friend. A kid needing to go to the restroom every 15 minutes on a family road trip. Not having enough pocket change when you desperately need it. Paying taxes, and feeling good after hearing an old Beatles tune.
And then there’s the Pikesville Farmers Market, which kicked off its 21st season Tuesday afternoon, May 17, in the front parking lot of Pomona Square shopping center, 1700 Reisterstown Rd.
A community staple presented by the Greater Baltimore Chamber of Commerce (formerly the Pikesville-Owings Mills Regional Chamber), the market is held every Tuesday from 2 to 6 p.m. and runs through Nov. 29, rain or shine. Every year, approximately 4,000 visitors attend the market.
More than 30 high-end vendors — selling homemade, handcrafted and/or homegrown products — are featured at the market. Among the offerings are produce, baked goods, soaps, smoked gourmet sandwiches, wine, plants, whiskey, custom gifts, clothing, jewelry, juices and more. Among the vendors are food trucks and a pair of farm stands.
