A genuine icon among Baltimore Jews, Attman’s Delicatessen recently announced it will open a third location this fall at the 27-acre Harbor Point waterfront retail and residential development, located between Fells Point and Harbor East.

The historic deli’s newest location will be at 1401 Point St, occupying the street level of the 1405 Point residential building facing the Central Plaza at Harbor Point, in the 3,659-square-feet space formerly occupied by Vida Taco Bar.
The Tex-Mex bistro closed there last September after more than four years in business.
“Get ready for piled-high sandwiches, comfort foods, and all the made-from-scratch soups, salads, and baked goods that have made Attman’s a Baltimore staple since 1915!” Harbor Point’s management posted on social media.
Founded in 1915, the family-owned Attman’s is currently located at its East Baltimore home since 1933, at 1019 E. Lombard Street in the Jonestown community, as well as at 12505 Park Potomac Ave. in Potomac.

“Harbor Point represented a rare opportunity to establish a presence in a neighborhood that is still developing and grow along with it,” said Dr. Marc Attman, grandson of the deli’s Russian-born founder, Harry Attman, in a statement. “The Attman family couldn’t be more thrilled to start the next chapter of our family business in this exciting new location.”
In a 2018 profile, Dr. Attman told Jmore that his family felt a strong obligation to keep the deli business going since many other Jewish businesses in East Baltimore have closed over the years.
He said Attman’s — which is located across from the Jewish Museum of Maryland compound and known for its “Kibbitz Room” — is a “Corned Beef Row” tradition as well as a family business.
Attman’s is the oldest continuously family-owned deli in the nation.
“There’s an Attmansphere there,” he said. “We love being part of the community.”
In a statement, Michael S. Beatty, president of Beatty Development Group, developer of Harbor Point, said, “I’m pleased to be among the first to welcome Attman’s Deli to Harbor Point. The inclusion of such a well-known local favorite to Harbor Point is a great addition to our growing community, providing an authentic taste of Baltimore to the people that live, work, and visit here.”
