Baltimore Homecoming announced that Mandy Snyder, a Columbia native with deep roots in Baltimore, was recently hired as the nonprofit’s executive director.
Founded in 2017, Baltimore Homecoming is an organization committed to mobilizing accomplished Baltimoreans from around the world to spark new collaborations, build deeper relationships and drive new investments to Charm City.
A Canton resident, Snyder worked for 11 years at Junior Achievement of Central Maryland, most recently serving as vice president of development. At JA, she oversaw fundraising, events and marketing efforts, and most recently helped raise more than $3 million for the first time in the organization’s history.
“Mandy brings to Baltimore Homecoming a strategic vision paired with proven success in building relationships and fundraising, along with an unwavering passion for Baltimore,” said JM Schapiro, who co-founded Baltimore Homecoming with fellow business and civic leader Nate Loewentheil. “We have laid the foundation and Mandy’s arrival marks a pivotal moment for the organization. She brings the drive and expertise needed to propel Baltimore’s Homecoming’s impact through our alumni network. We’re excited about the journey ahead with Mandy at the helm.”
In her new role, Snyder will manage all of the organization’s operations with a strong focus on fundraising and cultivating an network of high-profile Baltimore alumni.

Snyder is a 2012 graduate of Virginia Tech’s Pamplin School of Business, where she received a bachelor’s degree in marketing and management. She is active in Baltimore’s professional community and feels a special connection to the city where her parents and grandparents grew up.
Baltimore Homecoming has established an alumni network boasting more than 1,100 individuals around the globe, infusing more than $1 million in philanthropic support for nonprofits, helping local entrepreneurs raise hundreds of thousands of dollars of investment, spurring real estate development in underserved neighborhoods, holding four major Homecoming events in Baltimore, and fostering more than 2,000 connections between alumni and local changemakers.
Among its alumni include Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, award-winning TV actors Julie Bowen and Josh Charles, filmmaker Amanda Lipitz, TV personality and chef Duff Goldman, WNBA all-star Angel McCoughtry, and Adena T. Friedman, president and CEO of NASDAQ.
