On Thursday night, Apr. 10, 4Front, the Jewish community’s comprehensive teen initiative, rededicated its Meyerhoff Teen Commons room at the Rosenbloom Owings Mills Jewish Community Center.

Attending the ceremony were staff members from 4Front, the JCC of Greater Baltimore and The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore, as well as committee members, lay leadership and other members of the community.

“4Front is so thrilled about the renovation of the Meyerhoff Teen Commons,” said 4Front Senior Director Diana Solomon. “4Front’s mission is to empower Jewish teens and help them be elevated and prioritized in our local Jewish community. This new space is a physical manifestation of that goal. Creating a beautiful and creative Jewish space for teens to learn and connect elevates each program that takes place within the space and shows teens our community’s investment in them.”
Solomon said the renovated room will be used for teen programming from middle through high school, as well as for parents’ events and youth professional training sessions.

“The new look and feel creates a more welcoming and comfortable yet professional setting for deeper learning, fun and growth that will carry 4Front and the JCC into the future as the community’s central address for teen engagement,” she said.

Other speakers at the ceremony included JCC Board Chair Larry Plant; Andrew Cushnir, president and CEO of The Associated; Barak Hermann, CEO of the JCC; and Rosalee Kaminsky, a board member of 4Front’s Gesher teen board.

The program culminated with the affixing and blessing of a mezuzah on the doorpost of the entryway of the commons.
Managed by the JCC, 4Front is supported by The Associated, the Jim Joseph Foundation, the Joseph & Harvey Meyerhoff Family Charitable Funds, and other local donors. For information, visit 4frontbaltimore.org.
