Exhibition of SEED Students at Gordon Center

January 11, 2024 @ 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Bridge to Freedom: Opening Event

On Thursday night, Jan. 11, the Gordon Center for Performing Arts and the SEED School of Maryland will co-host “Cross Cultural Conversations Through Art,” an evening featuring an exhibition of art and spoken-word performances from SEED students about Black-Jewish relations. Also featured will be music from The Melting Pot band performing selections from the late Baltimore-born jazz composer and saxophonist Hank Levy.

The student art will be displayed at the Gordon Center, 3506 Gwynnbrook Avenue, from late December until February of 2024.

The SEED School, the state’s only public boarding school, provides a high-caliber middle and high school education model for underserved youth. The Jan. 11 event is presented through a partnership created by the Gordon Center, the Hank Levy Foundation and the SEED School of Maryland.

Tickets are $20 for the general public, $10 for JCC members, seniors,  SEED staff and students, and available at https://gordoncenter.com/event/bridge-to-freedom-opening-event/. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the partner organizations.
