Jewish Volunteer Connection Presents ‘Casserole Challenge’

In keeping with the giving spirit of the holiday season, Jewish Volunteer Connection invites members of the community to participate in a “Casserole Challenge” to help people in need next Tuesday, Dec. 3.

The challenge is a “Live With Purpose” volunteer opportunity offered by JVC, a program of The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore.

Area residents are challenging each other to make and donate frozen casseroles to support local families and individuals experiencing food insecurity. JVC held three challenges last year, which brought in more than 600 casseroles that were donated to a variety of organizations, including Living Classrooms and Dru/Mondawmin Healthy Families.

Collection sites for casseroles on Dec 3 include the Park Heights Jewish Community Center, 5700 Park Heights Ave., from 7:30-10:30 a.m. and 2-4 p.m.; the Owings Mills JCC, 3506 Gwynnbrook Ave., from 7:30-10:30 a.m. and 1-3 p.m.; and LifeBridge Health and Fitness, 1836 Greene Tree Rd. in Pikesville, from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
