UMB to Hold Annual Neighborhood Spring Festival

May 7, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

The University of Maryland, Baltimore, is partnering once again with Maryland First Lady Yumi Hogan to host the annual Neighborhood Spring Festival for the West Baltimore community. The annual festival was put on hold for the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Neighborhood Spring Festival will feature beautiful Korean dance pieces including a flower crown dance, a sword dance and Samulnori, a form of Korean percussion music, performed by local cultural dance groups. There will also be plenty of activities for the whole community including pony rides from City Ranch and hat making from Tattered Hatters as well as music, face painting, tote bag making and free food from local vendors. Plus, neighbors can expect a special appearance from the Oriole Bird and Baltimore Ravens mascot Poe.

In addition to the fun, free health screenings will be available from the Maryland Proton Center and SAFE KIDS Coalition, along with group fitness demonstrations taught by local instructors. The festival will be held across from the UMB Community Engagement Center at 16 S. Poppleton St. Located in the parking lot at West Baltimore and South Poppleton Streets.
