Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Will Make You Jump Out of Your Seat

Since 2008, Marvel, a comic company, has created 19 action-packed movies featuring unique superheroes. Among the most notable of late include “The Guardians of the Galaxy,” “The Avengers,” “Spiderman,” and “Black Panther.” In the past, each superhero/superhero team has had its own movie, until now! Marvel’s new “Avengers: Infinity War,” a blockbuster movie released on April 27, 2018, features 126 superheroes.

Just a warning, this article contains spoilers. If you have not seen Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War,” you may want to avoid reading this review.

“Avengers: Infinity War” has many subplots happening at once, but the main plot line revolves around Thanos, the villain, and his search for the six infinity stones he can use to destroy the world. Fortunately, the Avengers are relentless and will not give up until Thanos is stopped.

To secure one of the stones, Thanos kills Gamora, his own adopted daughter who loathes him, and for another stone, he kills Vision, Tony Stark’s (Iron Man) robot creation. He successfully breaks the oath of Doctor Strange (a wizard who promises to keep one of the stones safe). He captures the final three stones by traveling to specific locations to collect them. Thanos ultimately secures all six stones and stores them in his infinity gauntlet.

The movie ends on a huge cliffhanger. Civilians, S.H.I.E.,L.D. agents (members of an organization that helps the superheroes), along with some of the superheroes, fade into ashes.

Brady B., a sixth-grade student at Krieger Schechter Day School of Chizuk Amuno Congregation and a fan of “Avengers: Infinity War,” could not believe how the story ended. He claimed that Thanos makes a bad decision about whom he chooses to kill. In the movie, Thanos announces that he does not have enough resources, yet he only kills half of the population. Brady thought Thanos should have killed everyone to get more than enough resources, but Brady is happy that Thanos at least let Iron Man, his favorite character, live.

Jacob B., another KSDS student and “Avengers: Infinity War” fan, also could not believe the ending, “I was extremely shocked about how most of the characters disintegrated because I thought that the Avengers would beat Thanos, but they didn’t.” Sadly, Jacob’s favorite character, Black Panther, is among those who gets disintegrated.

Marvel is creating an “Avengers: Infinity War” part 2. Brady cannot wait for it. He hypothesizes that the story will ultimately have a happily-ever-after ending.

“[The superheroes] will either make Thanos bring all the heroes back and save all the people, or they will take the infinity gauntlet themselves, kill Thanos and then bring everyone back. Once they kill Thanos and destroy the gauntlet, everything will return to normal,” Brady said.

When asked about his favorite scene, Brady said without hesitation: “when all the superheroes were against Thanos,” referencing the action-packed fight scene near the end of the film. All of the superheroes gather together and fight Thanos and his army. With five out of six infinity stones, he defeats the Avengers and secures the final stone. Thanos becomes the most powerful being in the universe.

Will Thanos die or will there be no more superheroes? All fans can do is wait (impatiently) for Part 2, which is scheduled to be released in May 2019.
