Roland Park Place PresidentTeresa Donofrio Snyder has served the Roland Park Place (RPP) community fornearly 16 years. Her lifelong admiration of older adults began in childhood andled her to pursue graduate studies in gerontology at Hood College after graduatingfrom the University of Maryland.
Recognized as a regional leaderin the senior living sector, Snyder brings 40 years of experience serving olderadults to her role overseeing RPP. Under Snyder’s leadership, RPP is undergoing a $60million renovations and expansion project, scheduled for 2021 completion.
The first phase of the projectis focused on renovating common areas and dining spaces; construction of a newArts and Education Center equipped with state-of-the-art acoustical andtechnological features; and a redesign of the Health Care Center.
The expansion portion of theproject is designed to meet growing market interest in metropolitan seniorliving by offering 58 new independent living residences that will provide anupscale option for people who desire a spacious apartment with an open floorplan while remaining close to the cultural and entertainment attractions uniqueto Baltimore City.
Snyder, thefirst woman to serve as president at RPP, likens her role to that of a mayor ofa small village. “I try to be aware of services and amenities that touch thelives of our residents to help them achieve their individual goals,” she says.“We want to personalize the experience for residents and their families whileproviding peace of mind.”
