Jane Austen fans (and everyone else) will revel in Kate Hamill’s delightful adaptation of the celebrated 19th-century British author’s first novel, “Sense and Sensibility.” Directed by Susanna Gellert, the witty yet poignant story of sisters Elinor and Marianne Dashwood, who struggle to find love and social acceptance after their father’s death leaves them destitute, stars Everyman Theatre Resident Co. members Megan Anderson and Katie Kleiger.

For the first time in its 20-year history, the Chesapeake Shakespeare Co. presents “Henry V,” the last play in Shakespeare’s Henriad series. Written circa 1599, the play is set in the period just before and after the Battle of Agincourt (١٤١٥) during the Hundred Years’ War. It centers on young Henry V and his army’s attempts to conquer France.

If you love the Temptations, you’re bound to enjoy director Des McAnuff’s newest bio-musical. Containing 31 Motown hits and fantastic choreography, “Ain’t Too Proud” tells the story of the quintet’s rise, fall and comeback. We’re pretty sure you’ll be dancing in the aisles.
The BCO, founded in 1984, will perform the works of Frank Zappa, Beethoven, Mason Bates and Karena Ingram.
Led by local Israel-American cellist Amit Peled, the Mount Vernon Virtuosi aims to inspire people beyond musical enjoyment.
