Na’aleh to Honor Four Area Jewish Communal Professional Leaders

Na’aleh: The Hub for Leadership Learning will present four Jewish communal awards at its annual meeting on Tuesday morning, June 6, at Pikesville’s Beth El Congregation.

An agency of The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore, Na’aleh offers community-wide interactive learning opportunities for professionals and volunteers to connect and grow as leaders.

Among those to be honored at “Na’aleh Celebrates V” will be Howard Reznick, senior manager of prevention and wellness at Jewish Community Services. Reznick will receive the Daniel Thursz Distinguished Jewish Communal Service Award, which recognizes an individual who has worked in the local Jewish communal service field for more than two decades and demonstrates exemplary leadership and professional skills.

Anne Shimanovich, director of CHAI’s Aging in the Community program, will receive the Outstanding Jewish Communal Professional award for demonstrating exceptional promise and a commitment to a Jewish communal service career.

Sara Shalva, chief arts officer at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore, will receive the Neely Tal Snyder Community Impact Award. This award honors the memory of the program director at the Pearlstone Center, who died in August of 2015, by recognizing a professional with a strong commitment and passion for Jewish community.

In addition, Miriam Golob, K-8 school administrator at Pikesville’s Krieger Schechter Day School, will receive the Unsung H.E.R.O. Award, recognizing an employee in the organized Jewish community who goes above and beyond in their job to care about the overall functioning of an organization.
