It is clear that the majority of Americans have tuned out the fear-mongering and hypocritical hyperboles of the Democratic left by such vocal Trump critics as Jamie Raskin, Chuck Schumer and the like.
After all, they lost the November elections by a large margin and Trump’s approval ratings are currently hovering at 70%.
Raskin continues the same cries of constitutional crisis, democracy at risk and dictatorship that they leveled in the run-up to the November elections. It didn’t work then and it’s not working now.
It’s especially rich to hear Raskin, et al., complain about unelected officials (i.e., Elon Musk) seeking to actually reduce government abuse, waste and corruption while securing our borders, but said nary a word about Biden’s unelected officials adding to the bloat and opening our borders without congressional approval.
Additionally, they complain about the Justice Department being weaponized against them (by the way, without proof) while remaining silent about the weaponization of the Biden Justice Department against Trump and his conservative minions (while ignoring similar or even worse crimes by people named Biden, Clinton, etc.).
It’s also ironic to have heard so many top Democrats blathering “No one is above the law” when it comes to Trump while remaining silent when Hunter Biden was pardoned, among thousands of other post- and preemptive pardons issued by Biden. Shouldn’t they be screaming for justice?
Of course, it is also clear that the Democrats use terms like “constitutional crisis” and “democracy is at risk” when they don’t like what Republicans are doing.
It never comes up when their party, while in power, did the same things! And let’s add in, placing a presidential candidate on their ticket who was voted to that role by not one American citizen at the polls! They also give themselves away by proposing changes to the Constitution to better get their way (eliminating the electoral college, adding more Supreme Court justices, etc.).
It is also worth noting that the fear-mongering related to deporting illegal immigrants is way out of sync with what is actually happening on the ground as ICE seeks out known criminals, gang members and terrorists, not hardworking migrants and their families.
Why aren’t the Democrats concerned about protecting American citizens by supporting ICE’s work to deport those who pose dangers to their constituents?
Lastly, the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency has been very transparent about what they are finding and eliminating. Worth noting, unlike the Democrats who have added all the bloat in closed-door manners.
By the way, are Jmore readers really OK with USAID having sent hundreds of millions of dollars to terrorist and adversary organizations and countries such as Hamas, the Taliban, Syria, etc.? Wouldn’t the Democratic party be serving American citizens better by offering to work with DOGE and the Trump administration to eliminate real waste, abuse and fraud, and to help ensure that valid and necessary programs remain intact?
There is still a window of opportunity for Democrats who are truly concerned about American citizens to work hand-in-glove with the Trump administration on reducing spend and making America safe. Healthy debate about specifics could and should be undertaken.
Fostering mass hysteria, fear mongering, and promoting mass rebellion serves no one’s best interest, except perhaps attention-seeking politicians.
