For their annual “Good Deeds Day” activity, teen volunteers from the Baltimore Zionist District’s BMore Israeli group volunteered last Sunday, Apr. 6, at the Ronald McDonald House of Maryland.

The group gathered at the Ronald McDonald House, at 1 Aisquith Street in East Baltimore, and participated in the “Breakfast Club.” The program provides hot, home-cooked meals for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House while their children receive medical treatment at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Led by Ido Mizrahi, the BZD’s shaliach (Israel emissary), the BMore Israeli program is a leadership initiative for Jewish 10th graders in the Baltimore area. Through monthly sessions, cultural exploration, community engagement and advocacy training, the yearlong program helps teens grow into Jewish leaders with strong ties to Israel and the global Jewish community.

“Watching these teens grow into confident, connected leaders has been one of the most rewarding parts of my work,” said Mizrahi, who grew up in the northern Israeli city of Hadera. “BMore Israeli gives them the tools, the knowledge and the passion to embrace who they are and to lead with pride.”

The program culminates in a summer trip to Israel.

For information regarding registration for next year’s cohort or for general questions about the program, contact Ido Mizrahi at Shlichut@bzdisrael.org or 410-484-4510.
