This summer, the beloved block heel, a mega-favorite from the ‘90s, has resurfaced on runways!

That’s cause for celebration. After too many Julys spent teetering around in stiletto sandals, achy feet and wobbly ankles everywhere are finally catching a much-deserved break!

Available in a plethora of heights, block heels offer support, stability and innumerable options including color block, metallic leather, denim, tassels, pom-poms, metal studs, patent leather, suede and cork.

What’s more, they’re appropriate for literally every occasion, from Sunday brunches to outdoor weddings (where you can finally romp on the grass without worry of hitting a nasty sinkhole).

Locally available confections include Kate Spade’s vibrantly tasseled sandals, perfect with a flowy, off-the-shoulder dress. Loeffler Randall’s suede mules, in a neutral peachy-pink, make an ideal pairing with cropped flared pants.

And for model-worthy gams, slip on Pella Moda’s denim mules with a pair of high-waisted flared trousers.
