Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center kicks off its 40th anniversary weekend celebrations with the annual Tom LaMonica Memorial 5K Trail run and one-mile walk on Saturday, September 17, 2022.

Participants will enjoy the natural beauty of the center’s 150-acre campus as they run and walk the trails. Dollars raised support Genesee Valley’s scholarship fund providing access for underserved children to participate in team-building programs or attend a week of summer camp. Registration includes one t-shirt per registrant and a free beer for all participants 21+, and a free snowball for non-drinkers or those under 21.

The race honors founder Tom LaMonica’s vision of providing a space for groups to become better teammates and classmates through physical challenges. This mission is fulfilled at Genesee Valley through summer camp and team-building programs for students and adults that focus on communication, confidence building, persistence, leadership, and creative problem-solving.
