Howard County to Hold Annual Holocaust Remembrance Day Program
Howard County’s annual Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) program will be held at Temple Isaiah, 12200 Scaggsville Road in Fulton.

This year’s featured speakers will be Dr. Steve Salzberg, a Baltimore resident and son of a Holocaust survivor, and Steve DiBiagio, son of a World War II veteran. The two met at The John Carroll School in Belair when DiBiagio was speaking at a Holocaust remembrance program about his father being a liberator of the Hannover-Ahlem concentration camp where Salzberg’s father was imprisoned.
They will be joined by Merle Silberstrom Ross, who will talk about being born in a Displaced Persons camp. The event will be moderated by Robert Lang, news anchor and reporter for WBAL Radio.
The program will include a Holocaust artifacts display, a candle-lighting ceremony, musical selections, survivor testimonies and the announcement of student contest winners.
