Nearly 6,000 people turned out Sunday morning and afternoon, May 31, for the annual Community Block Party at the Owings Mills Jewish Community Center. This year’s theme for the free outdoor gathering was “It’s Classic!”

Activities at the family-friendly festival included live entertainment, such as music and dancing; a display of classic cars; strolling entertainment including bubble artists, balloon twisters and life-sized characters; jumbo games, large inflatables and spin-art; a rock-climbing wall; guided tours of the J Nature Trail; a “Boardwalk to Better Health Area provided by LifeBridge Health; and a celebration of Israeli culture, featuring kosher food, gifts and jewelry.

In addition, the block party offered an array of local vendors and community partners showcasing their non-profit organizations.
“We love to have the opportunity to have days like this that are fun, free, family festivals that enable people to learn some stuff about the community and bring their kids out to have an amazing time,” Paul Lurie, executive director of the JCC of Greater Baltimore, told WBAL-TV.
