Maryland. “The Old Line State.” “The Free State.” “America in Miniature.” Even “Merlin.”

Whatever you call it, Maryland is not to be missed — and it’s all in your backyard! From the scenic shorelines of the Eastern Shore to the Hoye-Crest summit of Garrett County, there’s a lot to experience within the more than 12,000 square miles comprising Maryland.

Rich in history, blessed with bucolic scenery and abundant in cities, towns and rural areas, Maryland has something for everyone to savor. Still, many Marylanders have not yet gotten around to seeing all that our state — only approximately 250 miles long and 100 miles wide — has to offer.

Paris can wait. Now is the time to experience Maryland. Enjoy our annual “O Say, Have You Seen … Maryland” issue.
